Questions fréquentes

Mobile cord posts meet specific needs, where flow management must be integrated into an aesthetic or reception approach. Their operation differs from strap systems, particularly in terms of configuration, visual rendering and use. This FAQ allows you to better understand the selection criteria and use cases.
When to use a mobile cord post?
The movable cord post is generally used when the objective is not only to channel a flow, but also to structure a space in a visual and elegant way. It is particularly suitable for places open to the public where experience and image play an important role, such as hotels, museums, events or reception areas.
Are corded poles suitable for outdoor use?
Most corded poles are designed for indoor or covered use. Their outdoor use depends on the materials and exposure conditions. Some models may be suitable occasionally, but for long-lasting outdoor use, it is best to contact our team of experts.
How to effectively organize a space with cord posts?
The organization is based on visual coherence and readability of demarcated areas. Cords create flexible separations, often used to guide without constraining. Post spacing and cord height play an important role in the overall perception of space.
What stability can you expect from a corded pole in professional use?
The corded posts are equipped with a weighted base which ensures their stability. This type of device is suitable for controlled environments, where the flow is moderate and where interactions with the equipment remain limited.
Are there any constraints or recommendations in ERP?
As with any marking device, corded posts must comply with ERP traffic rules. They must not obstruct paths or obstruct evacuation. Their use must therefore remain consistent with security and accessibility requirements.
What is the difference between a corded post and a strapped post?
The main difference lies in the use and visual rendering. The strap post is designed to effectively channel flows, with functional logic, while the cord post favors a more aesthetic and less directive approach. It is used more to demarcate or stage a space than to manage high-density queues.

Mobile rope stanchion: specifications

The mobile rope stanchion combines the elegance of velvet or braided rope with the flexibility of a movable base. This page focuses on technical characteristics to compare; usage, installation and customization questions are covered in the FAQ at the bottom of the page.

Technical criteria

  • Base: round (Ø 35-40 cm) or square (35 × 35 cm). Round shape remains most discreet in hospitality. Weight: 6 to 12 kg.
  • Height: 90 to 100 cm. Industry standard heights.
  • Post: Ø 50 mm most common. Polished chrome steel (entry level), brushed 304 stainless steel (premium), brass (classic style), anodized aluminum (lightweight).
  • Top: removable to facilitate storage or transport. Ball, flat, cylinder according to style.
  • Rope hooks: 4-way on modern models — allows crossing two ropes at 90°.

Round vs square base comparison

Round base slides better on hard floors and has a more discreet visual footprint. Square base offers superior stability against asymmetric tension but may catch on carpets. For thick carpet areas, choose bases weighted to 10 kg minimum.

Alternatives

For permanent installation, see fixed rope stanchions. For tighter budgets or less formal environments, mobile belt barriers fulfill the same functions at lower cost.
