Questions fréquentes
Can barrier posts with straps be used outdoors?
Yes, it is entirely possible to use barrier posts with straps outdoors. However, you should keep in mind that in this case, the textile strap is then considered a consumable item.
When exposed to rain, humidity or temperature variations, it may eventually warp or deform if not properly dried after use. In this case, strap replacement may become necessary over time.
Some solutions exist for more intensive outdoor use, particularly models equipped with straps or ropes made of plastic material, which are better suited to humid environments.
When in doubt, the safest approach is to request a personalized quote to choose a solution truly adapted to your outdoor use.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor guidance post?
An outdoor guidance post is designed to withstand weather conditions (rain, UV, wind) thanks to anti-corrosion materials (304/316 stainless steel, PVC plastic, powder-coated aluminum, etc.). Its base is often fillable (water, sand, concrete) or weighted and has a sufficient diameter to ensure stability against gusts up to 60 km/h. An indoor post, on the other hand, prioritizes aesthetics with a thinner base and is not suitable for outdoor climate variations.
Will my outdoor guidance post withstand wind?
Yes, provided you follow the recommended ballasting. For a sheltered area (courtyard, covered terrace), 8 to 12 kg is sufficient. For an open area (parking lot, beach, outdoor event), plan for ballasting of 18 to 25 kg minimum (water, sand or concrete). All our outdoor guidance posts are designed to provide professional stability even in strong gusts when properly ballasted.
Which outdoor guidance post should I choose for a parking area?
For a corporate or shopping center parking area, we recommend an outdoor guidance post in galvanized steel or stainless steel with a heavy base fixed to the ground (expansion bolts). Recommended height: 90-100 cm. Visibility: yellow/black or red/white striped webbing (chevrons). For temporary areas (construction sites, fairs), opt for the fillable plastic post, which is more economical.
Are my outdoor crowd control posts delivered fully assembled?
Not quite, all our outdoor crowd control posts are delivered partially assembled and practically ready to use. Generally, the base needs to be attached to the post tube. For posts that require it, you simply need to fill the weighted base (water, sand) or secure to the ground depending on the chosen model.
